Tonya recently wrapped two leading role in films BOTTLED UP & LIMINAL. At SUNDANCE ‘08 she proudly saw the premiere of DOG LOVERS, an Official Selection of the Sundance Film Festival, which she wrote and stars in. She is currently filming MY BIG BEARTH the webisode she has written with her partners in crime Danny Roew & Graham Sibley in LA and will be working on the project SPARK RIDERS as Detective Sterling :} soon…
Most recently, Ms. Cornelisse is constantly recognized as Melissa in AT&T/Cingular’s dropped call campaign, “Two Day Rule” (among other commercial spots) Her film Credits include The Cupcake Girl, Burty, The Gypsy Years, Spike Lee’s 25th Hour, Ruby, 15 Minutes, and Cornelisse stars in the romantic horror flick, Zombie Honeymoon playing regularly on Showtime throughout 2008. In addition to her versatility, she can also be seen as a Marilyn Monroe-like character in the upcoming dark comedy Underdogs. In the TV world, Tonya has guest starred on “Law and Order: SVU,” “Strangers with Candy,” “As the World Turns,” and recently as Emily Wilson on “ER.” She also records voiceover for radio and animation, most notably the sci-fi web sensation “Afterworld.”
A force in the theatre scene, Tonya was the recipient of the Best Supporting Actress award at The Humana Festival by the Actors theatre of Louisville and the theatre Critics Association. She has performed on and off Broadway. With equal parts talent & passion she is one of the most exciting actresses emerging on the scene in Hollywood. Alas, she currently lives in Hollywood.
